But what role does a deeper understanding and data around your own team players, as well as the competitors, help in securing the wins? And what can other industries learn from the Sports industry. Since Superbowl was only last night, it is only fair for us to dive into the agile world of Sports Analytics!

My guest today, Bernhard Escherich is an SAP industry expert, with more than 20 years of experience with SAP. He was part of the SAP Sports Industry Business Unit when it began in 2015 until 2020.

He is now the Chief Expert at SAP's New Business and Industry Strategy team, covering all industries, and helps implement new innovations and business models for SAP’s customers. He is passionate about bringing insights and best practices from elite sports teams and SAP sport solutions to all industries, to enable healthier working environments and lifestyles. He was a water polo player in his youth, and you can still find him at the pool every morning at 6.30am.

Bernhard and I will be discussing topics from a latest SAP whitepaper on Sports Analytics, which I have included in the shownotes, so that you too can keep the Superbowl celebrations going with this deeper dive into everything Sports Analytics!
